Shia LaBeouf has officially started his 30 day outdoor journey called #TAKEMEANYWHERE in scenic Colorado. The eccentric actor’s latest art project was commissioned by the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and the Finnish Institute in London. Shia is accompanied by fellow artists Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner. The group is periodically tweeting GPS coordinates in hopes that the trio can catch a ride— leaving fans scrambling to find them first.

The hitchhiking collaboration is even more intriguing because the three young travelers don’t get to choose their destination— the drivers do. A group of brothers drove the first leg of Shia’s epic trip and even grabbed lunch with the star. They documented this event in the clip below.
Right now, Shia and his companions appear to be located in the southeast corner of Wyoming. Normally, I find Shia’s art projects to be pretentious and mildly irritating— but this is a cool concept and I look forward to tracking their progress across the nation. The Vice website isn’t all that helpful but the Twitter account above and hashtag are useful.
Let’s just hope they can refuse rides if needed. Yikes.
