So exactly what is this whole #FreeKesha about? Well, this began a couple years ago when fans called for Kesha to separate her relationship with her executive producer Dr. Luke. According to Kesha, Dr. Luke was very controlling with her career and life. She also claims cases of verbal, physical, and sexual abuse. Kesha filed a lawsuit in 2014 to sever all ties with Dr. Luke and her music/recording label. This would allow her to pursue her music with another label and as it stands Kesha has not released anything new in years. Her last single “Crazy Kids” was released over 2 years ago and came off of her 2012 album Wild.
A lot of her fans have shown Kesha support through all of this. A lot of celebrities have shown their support as well on Twitter and the biggest display of support has been with Taylor Swift‘s generous donation to help support all the legal fees Kesha has incurred with taking this to trial. Check out just a few of these tweets supporting Kesha.
