In a recent interview with The Huffington Post, Tom Felton, otherwise known as Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies, shares his thoughts about sorting some of today’s celebrities in the Hogwarts houses. As you may recall, J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books are a tale of young witches and wizards who attend the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The eight movies are based on Rowling’s books and star Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Tom Felton among many other notable actors and actresses. Upon first arriving at Hogwarts, the characters are sorted into “houses” when the sorting hat is placed on their heads. Each house has a distinct reputation and the characters’ placements are based on their deepest thoughts and desires.
The four Hogwarts houses are Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house is very different and its members fit their unique criteria. The Hufflepuffs care deeply about their families and they want to be loved. They are practical, careful to avoid danger, and don’t like physical discomfort. They are also thoughtful, caring, and kind. The Ravenclaws love to learn. They want to gain knowledge above anything else. They are readers and revel in knowledge. Ravenclaws focus on the future instead of the past. They care about humanity, but are more introverted than the other houses. The Gryffindors have a desire for fame and adventure. They are passionate about their beliefs and standing up for what they believe in. They care deeply about people and like being around others. Physical discomfort doesn’t bother them, especially if the outcome is worthwhile. Finally, the Slytherins are practically synonymous with the dark arts. They fear public humiliation worse than death. They are risk takers that are known to be cunning and have bristly personalities. They don’t concern themselves with fair play and will not hesitate to cheat. Slytherins don’t care much about people and seek to benefit themselves above all others.
With these attributes in mind, Tom Felton claims Kim Kardashian would definitely be in the Slytherin House, on the other hand, Kanye West would be a Hufflepuff. Really? Felton adds, Justin Beiber, Miley Cyrus, and Pitbull would all be Slytherins. When considering Justin Beiber, Felton responded, “He’s gonna have to join me in Slytherin…He’s a bit of a bad boy.” As for Miley Cyrus, Felton states she’s “definitely part of Slytherin”. And Pitbull, “He’s got to be a Slytherin. Hasn’t he?”
When Felton was asked about Taylor Swift, he responded, “Taylor Swift is far too good. We’ll say Gryffindor.” Way to go Taylor!! I wonder who else would be a Gryffindor? Jennifer Lawrence? George Clooney?

Interestingly, after recently taking the quiz himself, Tom Felton ended up in the Gryffindor house. I guess it true, he’s nothing like the character he plays in the Harry Potter movies.
