Since November 2013, multiple publications claimed the two practicing Scientologists were dating. Grazia, a British publication, claimed Tom Cruise and Laura Prepon had a three hour long dinner in Los Angeles. Cruise pulled out all the stops and had a vintage car pick her up and a 1979 bottle of wine waiting for the two at the restaurant.

The potential lovebirds share at least one mutual friend, fellow Scientologist John Travolta. Sources claim Tom Cruise asked the young actress out after being impressed with her role in Orange is the New Black. When the press broke news of the pair’s first date back in November, each of their publicists quickly shut down the story. However, when rumors of the two sprung up again last week, Tom Cruise’s rep claimed he has never even met Prepon… Ummm they were seen out in public together at the Manor Hotel.
Though Prepon seems to be Tom’s current flame, many pointed out ‘Mad Men’ actress Elisabeth Moss as a good match for the seasoned actor. Again, Scientology comes into play. After his failed marriages to Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes, it’s probably best to date women with the same belief system. If Tom is pursuing Laura, hopefully he won’t interject himself into her acting career. She is a very talented actress and I hope he doesn’t move her away from certain projects he sees as “beneath her.” That’s exactly what he did with Nicole and Katie, who both reclaimed their careers after ditching Tom.
