Reality star and bestselling cookbook author Teresa Giudice called it quits from the hit Bravo reality show The Real Housewives of New Jersey after Season 5, but her actions on the show seem to be carrying over into her real life. Lauren Manzo, daughter of fellow cast member and fan favorite Caroline Manzo, opted to keep Teresa off the invite list for her engagement party.
Once the news got out, several fans attacked Lauren on Twitter, demanding to know why Teresa had been blacklisted.
“u couldn’t invite Teresa that’s soooo wrong,” wrote one Twitter user.
Lauren responded back saying, “would u invite someone u haven’t spoken to in way over a year and have absolutely no relationship with to a party of yours?”
Another fan quickly chimed in, blasting back at Lauren “BUT YOU INVITE HER FAMILY WHO YOU MET THROUGH HER THATS DISGUSTING. #KARMA COMING FOR YOU.”
Other RHONJ cast members Melissa Gorga, Jacqueline Laurita, and Kathy Wakile were in attendance. Dina Manzo was not.
Teresa may be getting left out of the RHONJ crew as a result of her recent legal troubles. Teresa and husband Joe recently pleaded guilty to 41 counts of bankruptcy, mail and wire fraud, accepting a plea deal that would put Joe behind bars for two years and Teresa up to 27 months.
The financial troubles didn’t seem to be stopping Teresa from cashing in on opportunities to make some extra cash. At a high-profile New Jersey event this week, the reality star was reportedly charging for her autograph and photos.
Guests were shocked to learn that credit cards would not be accepted and they would not be issues receipts. Guests paid $110 for dinner, drinks and entertainment for the event and did not anticipate having to fork over more cash for an autograph.
“When you walked up to her, the woman next to her was quick to advise that it was $25 and ‘cash only.’ Cash only? who takes cash only?” one attendee told Radar Online. “Even Teresa was telling guests it was ‘cash only, no receipts’ and she had bags of cash beside her where her colleague was collecting the money.”
“Teresa was advertised as the celebrity guest and that she would be signing copies of her latest book. But nowhere was it advertised that she would be charging guests $25 to sign and take a photo with her!”
The guest went on to add that the cash-only policy quickly became the hot gossip of the event, with many attendees questioning the intentions behind such a rule.
“Why would someone insist on cash only? Everyone was saying it was to avoid a paper trail of her sales,” the guest told the site. “Some of Teresa’s friends were saying that the U.S. Government is likely to be garnishing her wages now that they’ve accepted plea deals.”
