Shia LaBeouf Gets Weird While Promoting ‘Nymphomaniac’

Brown bag special? Well, I have found my Halloween costume for this year...

Oh Shia LaBeouf, should we be worried about you?

The young actor rolled into a press panel session for his new film Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, sporting a missing bottom tooth and a messy appearance. When asked about his numerous graphic sex scenes, he answered with a cryptic quote from French soccer star Eric Cantona, “When the seagulls follow the trawler, it’s because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.”

Then he walked out…

In 1995, Cantona also famously walked out on the press after uttering the same line. It’s Shia, so of course he ripped off that statement and those actions from someone else. He’s just not that original.

Shia’s sudden departure left fellow actors Christian Slater and Uma Thurman in an awkward lurch since he bailed from the panel after just 10 minutes. Poor Uma and Christian had to keep rolling after that scene…

LeBeouf resurfaced about an hour later on the red carpet to support Nymphomaniac at the Berlin International Film Festival. He wore a nice really suit and a paper bag over his head. Scrawled across the bag in black marker was… “I Am Not Famous Anymore.”

He’s been repeating that statement over and over again via his Twitter account. Maybe if he repeats it enough times, it will come true.

Whelp, Shia you’re doing a fantastic job making yourself unlikeable… maybe you’ll get your wish and you’ll be passed over for future movie roles. I used to really enjoy Shia, now I just think he’s an entitled brat. Sigh. It’s so disappointing when someone who has been given such a fantastic opportunity in Hollywood comes across as completely ungrateful.

UPDATE: You can now visit Shia at an LA art gallery. His performance piece dubbed #IAMSORRY allows visitors to choose an object from a selection that includes a whip, Transformers toys, Hershey’s Kisses, pliers, and a bowl of paper containing Twitter comments about Shia himself. Then you visit the actor, who is just sitting at a table with a bag over his head and he says and does nothing. Sounds “fun”…

Good thing I’m nowhere near LA right now, because I’d probably smack him upside the head for being so lame…
