The 21-year-old pop princess and former Disney star Selena Gomez entered rehab back in January after those around her had become concerned about her partying ways, only to leave two weeks later.
Back then, many blamed her hard partying ways and crazy antics on her relationship with international superstar turned bad boy Justin Bieber. But when Gomez was spotted partying it up on July 4th weekend, Bieber was nowhere to be found.
Sources close to Gomez say that they are “very concerned” about her behavior and believe that she is hanging with a “very bad crew” that is leading down a dark and dangerous path.
Gomez was spotted celebrating the Fourth of July in Malibu with gal pals.
“Selena was definitely feeling no pain over the weekend at 4th of July festivities in Malibu,” an insider told RadarOnline. “There were numerous trips to the bathroom and Selena would emerge several minutes later, giggling, and holding her nose.”
“Selena is hanging out with a very bad crew right now. These are now friends Selena has recently made since being released from rehab. These definitely wouldn’t be approved for any person attempting to lead a sober life,” the source continued.
Gomez has had falling outs with several of her close gal pals in recent weeks, cutting Taylor Swift and Kylie and Kendall Jenner from her circle. Her relationship with best friend Demi Lovato is reportedly on the outs as well. The two starred on Barney & Friends as toddlers and have remained close ever since.
Lovato reportedly tweeted in a now-deleted tweet in early July, “Swimming away from the bullsh*t bye b*tch.”
A source confirmed that Lovato and Gomez are no longer friends. “Selena was overheard at a party talking trash about Demi. Demi is all about her sobriety and is taking it very seriously. She attempted to help Selena stay on the right path, but Demi’s efforts were rebuffed. It breaks Demi’s heart because she just doesn’t think this is going to end well for Selena.”
“This can’t be blamed on Justin Bieber, this is completely separate from his world, and this is Selena’s world and her rules,” the source added.
It could be that Gomez is trying to drown the pain of her ex-boyfriend’s steamy photos with his new beau that have surfaced online this week.
The 20-year-old international superstar Justin Bieber has been getting awfully cozy with 18-year-old model Yovanna Ventura in recent weeks, despite having been spotted with Gomez on several occassions.
Bieber posted several photos that show Ventura hanging out with him in the studio, straddled behind him with her hands under his shirt as he works on the keyboard. He later also posted a photo of Ventura seemingly asleep, captioned “Fell asleep in the studio.”
Bieber and Ventura have been spotted together since early May, first at the Floyd Mayweather fight in Las Vegas and later in Los Angeles on what appears to be a beach date.
Gomez has certainly noticed, taking to her own Instagram account to share cryptic messages with her 10 million followers.
“On valuable life lessons she has learned: ‘The moment you compare yourself [to another woman], it weakens you, and I’m not here for that. Once you know that reality [and] claim your space, your life becomes easier,” she wrote.
“#zoesaldana #womenepowerment you are all so beautiful the way YOU are. No bigger or smaller. You all inspire me,” she added in the caption.
Later, Gomez posted another cryptic message, a quote from an unknown source: “Sometimes we expect more from others because we’d be willing to do that much for them.”
Selena, girl… get a grip! C’mon you’re so much better than that!
