Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, Prince William and 8-month-old Prince George arrived in the land down under this week to begin their three week tour of Australia and New Zealand. It is George’s first major trip.

The 32-year-old Kate Middleton was stunning, as usual, in a classic fire engine red Catherine Walker coat and Gina Foster hat with her long brown locks flowing loosely. She also showed off some of the royal jewels, accessorizing with a silver fern diamond and platinum broach on loan from Queen Elizabeth. The broach was worn by Queen Elizabeth in 1954 on her Commonwealth Tour in 1954.

Prince William was dressed in a navy suit and red tie. Baby George stole the show, sporting a cream sweater with white pants.

The Royal Family arrived from a brief stop in Dubai aboard Qantas Airways at Sydney International Airport. They were greeted by Prime Minister John Key as well as Maori warriors. Kate and William both pressed their noses against the warriors, a customary Maori greeting.

The fussy George seemed less than thrilled to then board a three hour flight aboard a New Zealand military airfare plane to Wellington. The family will tour New Zealand, staying at the Government House in Wellington as their base. There will be a reception to celebrate the family at the home.

“The Duchess has never visited either country, so this is a chance for her to meet the people of New Zealand and Australia for the first time,” William’s private secretary said last month. “So, for the couple, this visit represents a wonderful opportunity on the one hand for The Duke to deepen his personal relationship with, and admiration for, New Zealand and Australia; and on the other, for the Duchess to experience some of the extraordinary warmth and hospitality for which the people of both countries are renowned the world over.”

The family will spend the next three weeks touring various sites throughout both countries, hosting 45 engagements across different towns and cities.
