1. Ellen Page is not known for persistently standing on a soap box infiltrating the media with her thoughts and opinions. That however changed this past Valentine’s Day in a speech she delivered at the Human Rights Campaign’s Time To Thrive Conference. Page stood proudly behind the podium as she revealed that she herself was tired of hiding the fact that she is a lesbian.
She went on to say that she hopes her coming out will ease the pain and stress for others who are scared to do the same.

3. Jennifer Lawrence has spoken openly about the pressures of Hollywood to be beautiful and thin, and how she simply doesn’t care. She continues to stay true to herself and is not afraid to vocalize her honest opinion any chance she gets.
“I’d rather look chubby on screen and like a person in real life,” Lawrence revealed in a Marie Claire interview.
It is truly refreshing to see an actress in Hollywood handle challenging roles and rising to A-List status, yet who isn’t rail thin and always attempting to be a sex goddess. She is truly a dedicated actress who utilizes her talents to score amazing lead roles.

4. Tina Fey may draw countless laughs from her comedic writing, but she stands firmly for what she believes in. Throughout her autobiography, Bossypants, Fey expresses her thoughts on feminism and beauty. She stresses that in the grand scheme of things, it’s your life to live and you shouldn’t live it by changing who you are in order to please others.
“Don’t waste your energy trying to change opinions … Do your thing, and don’t care if they like it.” Tina Fey, Bossypants
Fey emphasizes how hard she worked to be where she is and does not glamorize her rise through the television ranks. She completely debunks the myth that photo shoots are wholly glamorous and isn’t afraid to hide the fact that she requests Photoshop.
“If you retain nothing else, always remember the most important rule of beauty, which is: who cares?” Tina Fey, Bossypants
