Just a few weeks ahead of his first major international adventure, the royal family has released a new portrait featuring Prince George taken at Kensington Palace.

The 8 1/2-month-old royal has appeared in few photos, but he is already a world sensation. The photos were shot by Jason Bell, the same photographer who also shot the official Christening photos.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are headed on a three week vacation to Australia and New Zealand next week. William took the same trip at the same age with his parents almost 31 years ago.

While Down Under, George is expected to make an appearance at a reception at Government House in Wellington. The family has an action-packed itinerary planned, including racing New Zealand’s America’s Cup yachts in Auckland Harbord, shooting the rapids on the “Shotover Jet” in the Canyons in Queensland and taking in the scenery at Ayers Rock in Australia.

As for news about a little brother or sister for George, Prince William told guests in Aldershot several weeks ago at the St. Patrick’s celebration that “one was enough at the moment.”
