Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald have separated, according to an exclusive with PEOPLE Magazine.
The Twilight actress and American Idol singer originally tied the knot back in October 2011 with a private wedding in Malibu. The marriage lasted just under two-and-a-half years.
A rep for Nikki said in a statement:
After much consideration, Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald are ending their marriage. They have been living separately for the past six months due to work obligations. They will continue to share their love of music, and are still working on their debut album, I’m Not Falling, releasing in 2014. They remain best friends and look forward to their continued journey together.
We’re always sad to see a couple separate. To the left, you can see the twosome during better times on their one-year anniversary vacation.
