While performing in Monterrey, Mexico on Tuesday night, which happened to be Mexican Independence Day, Miley was twerking with a prosthetic butt when one of her backup dancers began to slap and wipe the butt with a Mexican flag.
Somebody should have warned Miley that Mexican authorities don’t take kindly to their flag being used to wipe butts. Miley could be charged with desecration of the flag by the congress of the state of Nuevo Leon. The crime has a $1,200 fine and a 36 hour jail sentence.
Other singers have faced similar penalties from Mexican authorities, with singer Paulina Rubio paying a $4,000 fine for appearing naked in a Spanish magazine draped with the Mexican flag.
This also isn’t the first such incident for Miley, having been banned from the Dominican Republic on morality grounds. She is scheduled to take her Bangerz Tour to South America next week, where she will appear at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brazil.
Last year, Miley made waves when she accepted an award on stage at the EMAs in Amsterdam while smoking a joint. She also kicked off her Bangerz tour in February by pretending to perform sexual acts on a backup dancer wearing a Bill Clinton mask.
