The reason? These tweets were posted in retaliation to Deadmau5’s tweets directed at Kanye West, which publicly accused him of pirating music software.

Kanye had tweeted a screenshot showing that he was listening to Sufjan Steven’s “Death With Dignity.” This tweet acted as the spark that started the flame, as the screenshot also revealed that Kanye had a tab open to PirateBay, a popular music torrenting site.
Deadmau5 jumped on this and shared a few rather colorful comments on Twitter, beginning the battle between the two artists.
