According to a 17-year-old’s posts on Imgur.com, she and James Franco, 35, engaged in a private conversation that led to him asking if he should rent a hotel room for them. The two allegedly met while Franco was signing autographs outside of the Longacre Theatre in New York where Franco is performing in the play “Of Mice and Men.” The girl, Lucy, snapped a selfie of her and Franco which he supposedly told her to tag him in on Instagram, so he could find her later. Franco later messaged Lucy through his Instagram account.

The teenager claims she is from Scotland and is in New York with her mother to celebrate her eighteenth birthday. As soon as Franco realizes she is is 17, he begins to ask more personal questions…”Who are with?”…”Do you have a bf?”…”What’s your #?”
The girl of course does not believe it’s the real James Franco, so he sends her a picture of him waving to the camera and begins soliciting her even harder…”It’s me”…Yes or No?”…”Tomorrow or Thurs?”

The conversation ends just as quickly as it began. Franco leaves while the girl is still asking him questions. This however all seems a little coincidental as the trailer for Franco’s upcoming film “Palo Alto” was released online the very same day. In his new film, Franco plays a coach who attempts to seduce a teenager…sound familiar? It’s unclear if the two ever met, but if Franco was only trying to get buzz around his name to promote his upcoming film, then he is definitely succeeding.

UPDATE: Franco admitted to making an embarrassing mistake while appearing on the Live! With Kelly and Michael morning show stating, “Unfortunately in my position, I mean…I have a very good life, but not only do I have to go through the embarrassing kind of rituals of kind of meeting someone, sometimes if I do that then it gets, you know, published for the world so now, you know, it’s like doubly embarrassing.”
No kidding, the girl is 17-years-old. Gross. He posted the meme below when the story erupted on Wednesday.
