Monday, January 6, 2014, Honey Boo Boo's father, Mike Thompson (Sugar Bear), was driving some family members when a left turn resulted in another vehicle crashing into theirs.
On Monday evening, when Sugar Bear took a left turn another vehicle crashed into his. Honey Boo Boo (Alana), her mother June, and two of her sisters (Lauryn Shannon/Pumpkin and Jessica Shannon/Chubbs) were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. They were all taken to the hospital afterwards, with Sugar Bear experiencing the worst of injuries. He received a concussion and now reports a back contusion. The rest of the members involved in the crash only report minor pains.
The crash happened the night before Pumpkin’s fourteenth birthday, which the family is now focused on celebrating in spite of Monday’s unfortunate events.
