Legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta passed away yesterday at his home in Connecticut due to cancer. He had bravely battled the disease for several years and kept up with his work, most recently he crafted Amal (Alamuddin) Clooney’s gorgeous wedding gown.
His career began in Spain after leaving the Dominican Republic during the 1950’s and his success soon brought his eye for fashion over to the United States. de la Renta has dressed everyone, from Hollywood’s starlets to dignitaries to society’s elite.
He will be remembered for his passionate nature and the love of his craft.
