Triona Priestley’s dying wish was to be sang to by Ed Sheeran, luckily she had a loving and innovative brother who made sure it happened. As the young 15-year-old girl was fighting for her life, her brother Colm started a Twitter hashtag campaign to grab Ed Sheeran’s attention: #SongForTri.
The campaign spread across the social media platform and on Tuesday, April 1st Triona Priestley received a telephone call from Ed Sheeran who sang her favorite song to her, “Little Bird.” The young girl supposedly fell asleep while Sheeran was singing to her and passed away not much later. Her family is extremely grateful to Sheeran for giving her such a peaceful passing at such a turbulent time for them.
What a thoughtful and very kind gesture. More celebs should follow Ed’s example.
