Captain Marvel— you know the Kree alien DNA-infused United States Air Force pilot-turned-superhuman— is getting her own stand-alone film. Captain Marvel’s (aka Carol Danvers) set of super powers include strength, energy projection, and flight.
The movie script is in the works and Marvel is weighing casting options. According to word from Variety, it appears that “Room” Best Actress Oscar winner, Brie Larson, is at the top of the list.
Marvel is remaining mum on the project, but we do know that writers Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman are penning the script and Kevin Feige is acting as producer. No word on the director yet either, but it looks like the movie won’t make it to the big screen until 2019.
Sometime this summer Marvel Studios is expected make their official announcements regarding Captain Marvel and Thor: Ragnarok— keep on the lookout!
