According to his publicist, Robin Williams had been battling depression and recently visited rehab in Minnesota. The actor claimed his rehab stint wasn’t a sign of relapse into drug and alcohol problems, it was intended to help him stay sober.
The popular actor leaves behind wife Susan Schneider and three adult children Zak, Zelda, and Cody. Susan summed up the tragedy of Robin’s unexpected death the best with this statement, “On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”
Some of his best loved work includes TV’s Mork & Mindy and the films Dead Poets Society, Hook, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, Patch Adams, The Birdcage, and Night at the Museum.
Robin was a comedic genius who brought a lot of joy into this world. It’s really quite sad that he couldn’t find the same joy in himself. He will be greatly missed.
