“Congratulations to all the expecting mothers out there,” Lively wrote on her lifestyle blog, the Preserve, sending the website crashing as fans rushed to see the piece for themselves.
Blake Lively, 27, wed fellow actor Ryan Reynolds, 37, in 2012 in a private ceremony in South Carolina. While Lively made it a point that she was ready to start a family, at one time jokingly with Marie Claire that she wanted 30 children, the pregnancy announcement comes almost two years into the couples’ marriage.

“I gotta get started,” Lively told the magazine. “If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would.”
Reynolds has chimed in in the past about the pair’s desire to have a large family.
“We both come from big families- my parents did four, Blake’s did five,” he told Details. “A lot of people say it’s crazy, but we’ll only know when we’re there, you know? We’ll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think.”
Lively has also gushed to sources about what Reynolds would be like as a father.
“He’s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch- he’s so meant to be all of those things,” she told Vogue. “The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he’s the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he’s become, and we get to grow from there.”

While no due date has been announced, many people are guessing that Lively is fairly far along, way past the 12 week mark. She reportedly told close pals, such as her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars, in September but held off on a public announcement until she was well past her first trimester.
Close family and friends have been in anticipation of baby bump news since the pair tied the knot, but Lively reportedly wanted to ensure that her career was in order before taking time off to be a mother.
“She wanted to get her work in solid shape before taking time off,” said one source.
“She’s a planner. She wanted to be sure the time was right,” added another.
She recently wrapped up filming for the 2015 The Age of Adaline and inked deals with Chanel and Gucci.
The pair has been busy jet-setting and traveling for work but look to be ready to settle down once baby arrives. They recently renovated their five-bedroom suburban house and a NYC loft. Lively has gushed about her skills in their kitchen and we expect the nursery decor to be just as impressive.

“With a new baby on the way there is so much to do!” she wrote. “But before experiencing the joy of 3am screams, seemingly impossible amounts of poop and having a favorite shirt covered in reflux… there are presents to open, onesies to dye, there is cake to serve, advice to be shared and all around celebrations to be had.”
The celebration was autumn-themed, set in an orchard and featuring pumpkins, gourds and carrot cake. Lively looked particularly stunning, grinning from ear to ear and happily showing off her growing bump.
Many speculate that baby will come sometime in the spring. We are already on pins and needles!
