Who you gonna call? The ladies of comedy, duh.

Bill Murray has some ideas. The legendary actor and star of the original iconic 1980s Ghostbusters film offered up some suggestions for who he would like to see in the rumored all-female reboot.

While the Ghostbusters franchise just celebrated its 30th anniversary this past June, rumors have been swirling online that a remake of the film could be in the works, focusing on an all-female cast of proton pack-wearing, paranormal investigators.

Bill Murray, who starred as Dr. Pete Venkman in the 1984 hit, alongside Dan Aykroyd, the late Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson talked to the media this week about the possibility of female ghostbusters.

“I would go to that movie, and they’d probably have better outfits, too,” he told the Toronto Star.

He later also discussed the project with Access Hollywood’s Scott Mantz. “It sounds as good an idea as any other! There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor!”

While Bridesmaids director Paul Feig has expressed interest in directing a female cast remake of the film, but Murray focused on which leading ladies he would select for the film.

“Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny – God, she’s so funny!” he told the Toronto Star.

Murray and McCarthy are co-stars in St. Vincent, a dramedy that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival this week.

“I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there,” he continued.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are also rumored to be potential cast members. Ivan Reitman, the director/producer of the two original Ghostbusters films, has been pretty quiet about the rumors of a spinoff.

McCarthy was asked at TIFF how she would feel about starring in a reboot of hit.

“I think that somebody is really trying to do it, but nobody has talked to me about it,” she said. “Listen, if the people I think are doing it are doing it, I must never question them.”

“Oh, my God, that’s daunting,” she said of the possibility of starring in it alongside Murray’s picks. “That’s taking on a legend, a legendary movie. But I would do anything with those ladies, anything at all.”

Personally, I think Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Rebel Wilson, and Aubrey Plaza would be great casting choices. Sidenote, Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence need to be in a comedy film together ASAP.
