Anton Yelchin tragically passed away over the weekend following a freak accident at his home in the San Fernando Valley in California. According to TMZ, the 27-year-old actor’s friends found his body early Sunday morning. He had been pinned between his own Jeep and the gate of his property. Reports say that his car had been in neutral on the steep incline of his driveway, rolled away, and crushed the young talent. Police do not suspect foul play.
Yelchin is best known for playing Chekov in the new Star Trek movies and appears in Star Trek Beyond, which comes out this summer. He also starred in Odd Thomas, Like Crazy, Charlie Bartlett, and Only Lovers Left Alive.
After the shocking news broke, tributes poured in from Anton’s friends and colleagues.
