Woody, Buzz, and friends are coming back to the silver screen!!! Toy Story 4 is set for release in June 2017. Yes, really. Disney said so.
John Lasseter, who directed the first two Toy Story films, will direct Toy Story 4. Even better, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen have agreed to reprise their roles voicing Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
The premise of the fourth film is said to be a ‘love story.’ Between characters? (Buzz and Jessie?) The love between a child and their toys? (Bonnie and her new toy collection.) Will Andy return and be reunited with his past prized possessions? (He could be a father by now. We last saw him in 2010 going off to college.)
I’m really feeling the Andy as a father angle. We will have to see where the creative team goes with this beloved story. No matter what, it will be worth seeing.
In other 90’s kids news: Bette Midler of Hocus Pocus recently stated after a Reddit AMA, “Inundate the Disney company, because I have canvassed the girls and they are wiling to do it, but we have no say in it, so if you want a HOCUS POCUS 2, ask the Walt Disney company. You have been SO adorable. This has been most enlightening. SISTAHS!”
So, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker are totally game for reuniting the Sanderson sisters. We as fans just need to bug Disney incessantly until they cave…
