Vin Diesel found the best way to honor his best friend, Paul Walker.
Vin Diesel revealed a very personal detail during an interview with The Today Show’s Natalie Morales which aired this morning— the inspiration behind his newborn daughter’s name.
Diesel and longtime girlfriend Paloma Jiménez named their third child Pauline after the late actor Paul Walker. Her namesake died on Nov. 30, 2013 after a horrific car accident. Diesel is currently promoting Furious 7, which is Walker’s final film.
“There’s no other person that I’m thinking about as I’m cutting this umbilical cord,” Diesel explained. “I knew he was there and I felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my memory, a part of my world.”
Vin made an appearance at the SXSW screening Furious 7 and addressed the crowd, “This was a labor of love. It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real. When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother.”
Obviously Vin Diesel is still coping with the death of Paul Walker and honored his friend in the best way possible. Little Pauline joins siblings Hania Riley Sinclair, 6, and Vincent Sinclair, 4.
Congrats to Vin and Paloma on the newest addition to their family! Also, remember Paul Walker when catching Furious 7 in theaters on April 3rd!
