2009: Kanye West interrupts Taylor Swift at the VMAs
This was the moment that started it all, the infamous interruption. For those of you who have been living under a rock since 2009, here’s the story. As 19-year-old Taylor Swift was giving her acceptance speech for winning the award for best music video for her “You Belong With Me” music video, Kanye jumped on the stage, snagged the microphone and said to the crowd “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”

2015: Taylor presents Kanye with the Micheal Jackson Video Vanguard award
All was happy and peaceful in the land of the VMAs. It seemed as if our two stars had moved passed the incident of 2009’s interruption. Taylor Swift was in charge of presenting Kanye with the Video Vanguard award, and she did so willingly and with a smile on her face. But at the end of her speech, she slipped in a little shade and said “All the other winners, I’m really happy for you, I’m going to let you finish, but Kanye West has had one of the greatest careers of all time.”

2016: Kanye writes Taylor into his new song “Famous”
As a premiere to his latest album The Life of Pablo, Kanye dropped the song “Famous.” Fans were shocked at the ballsy move by Kanye when they heard the infamous line “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, why? I made that bitch famous.” Kanye claims that he had permission from Taylor Swift to say that in his song, but her PR people claim that on the contrary, she was against the idea of the song and was unaware of the actual lyrics. .

2016: Taylor throws some shade at Kanye during her Grammys speech
When her album 1989 won the Grammy for Album of The Year, Taylor seasoned her acceptance speech with a hint of shade towards her now-official enemy. She said during her speech “As the first women to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there: there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.” Though she didn’t actually mention his name, this was a big imaginary finger pointed at Kanye West.
