1. It was during the XXXVIII Superbowl that “wardrobe malfunction” would become a household phrase. Justin Timberlake accidentally pulled off a little too much of Janet Jackson’s outfit during the halftime show exposing her assets to millions of viewers.

2. Desperate Housewives first introduced us the scandals that were happening all down Wisteria Lane.

3. The final season of FRIENDS and our dreams came true when Ross and Rachel got back together. Hopefully for eternity…

4. As though losing our favorite ‘friends’ wasn’t enough, Sex and the City also aired it’s final season. Thankfully, the independent ladies reunited for two full-length films.

5. Britney Spears was a bride twice in 2004. She began the year by marrying a childhood friend, Jason Allen Alexander, while in Las Vegas. The marriage was annulled just 55 hours later.

In the fall, Brit-Brit married dancer Kevin Federline. Her second marriage lasted for two years and resulted in two children.

6. Facebook debuted at Harvard University and soon spread to universities throughout the US. It would eventually open up to all 13 years old or older, and become one of the most popular websites worldwide.

7. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams showed us true love in The Notebook, based off of the Nicholas Sparks’ novel by the same name. Noah and Allie forever…

8. Martha Stewart was sent to a high class federal institution where she spent 5 months for insider trading and obstruction of justice. The United Kingdom later denied her entry to their country due to her crimes, she was scheduled to give a presentation at the Royal Academy.

9. The film Mean Girls was released, forever changing our wardrobe to include pink on Wednesdays.

10. Music legend Ray Charles passed away in June 2004 at his home in Beverly Hills, California. He passed away due to an acute liver disease. He was only 73 years old.
