Whew! Cristiano Ronaldo bears it all on the cover of Spanish Vogue!
The 28-year-old Russian supermodel Irinia Shayk has starred in countless glamourous fashion photoshoots and glossy magazine covers, but it’s her 29-year-old Real Madrid forward boyfriend Ronaldo that steals the show this time.
Shayk appears in a full length white ball gown, looking gorgeous with her striking eyes and full lips. But it’s Ronaldo who commands the attention of the photo, standing behind Shayk completely nude.
The photograph was taken by the famed Mario Testino.
“Mario and Carlyne [Cerf De Dudzeele] were the first high fashion people to say yes when the rest said no [to the shoot],” Shayk said of the cover. “Shooting with them was effortless and magical and like a family reunion sharing something as special as this together.”
The cover story features several more racy photos of the couple together, including a racy black and white spread of Ronaldo undressing Shayk as well as a topless Shayk in several others.
Having a man on the cover of a fashion magazine aimed at women is a bit of an anomaly, and only five men have ever been featured on the cover of US Vogue. When they are, they are often featured in some sort of affectionate embrace with a woman, such as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s April US Vogue cover. The only notable exception being Elle’s David Beckham cover in 2012.
These couple cover photos also tend to show a lot of skin, such as a topless David Beckham and bikini-clad Victoria Beckham for W magazine in 2007 and Kim and Kanye’s racy cover for French magazine L’Officiel Hommes in 2013.
“Undressing was better than dressing,” said stylist Cerf De Dudzeele of Ronaldo’s cover look.
With hunks like these, however, we doubt anyone will be complaining.
