Lindsay Lohan Emerges from London Hospital

2015 has not started off well for Lindsay Lohan. This time, it's not her fault!

No, no, it’s not what you think!

Lindsay Lohan is currently battling the effects of a rare tropical disease called Chikungunya, a virus spread by mosquito bites that causes fever, joint pain, rashes, and fatigue. The actress picked up the nastiness while on vacation in Bora Bora over the Christmas holiday.

After her trip, LiLo did some commercial work in Los Angeles, hopped over to New York City, and then made it to London. The starlet became ill in London an was admitted to King Edward VII’s Hospital with joint pain and a fever.

Sadly, Lindsay will be stuck dealing with joint pain for a few months and will have to see specialists to help her cope with the virus. Chikungunya is incurable but the symptoms can be managed with medications. Not the best news, but the virus’ effects should dissipate over time.

Fortunately, Lohan was allowed to leave the hospital once her fever broke. Her mother, Dina Lohan, has begged her to return to her native Long Island, New York so she can be looked after closely. Ehhh, could you imagine Dina playing nurse? Yikes.

One has to feel for Lindsay, she has been making strides to get her career back and stay clean… not this. Hopefully this doesn’t derail her attempts at making a triumphant return to Hollywood’s good graces.

Strangely enough, Bora Bora was mentioned in Lohan’s 1998 breakout film The Parent Trap:

Chessy the maid: “So you waited until it was 3 a.m. her time? That makes perfect sense.”

Annie as Hallie: “Actually…it was 7 p.m. her time. She lives in New York, but she was on vacation in Bora Bora.”

Chessy the maid: “Very smooth. OK, your father wants to meet you at his office after breakfast.”
