Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner Accused of Tweaking Instagram Pictures

Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner get backlash for editing Instagram photos! Surprise, surprise...

The reality star is famous for her stunning features and beauty on the red carpet. But many fans were upset this week when the star uploaded a photo to her Instagram that appeared to have been edited and altered.

The red carpet photo from 2010 was posted on Kim’s Instagram for Throwback Thursday (although oddly enough it was on a Wednesday) along with the caption “#SkinnyDays #OntheTreadmillRightNOW.”

We think Kim looks stunning now with her new-mom glow, having just given birth to daughter North West, but it seems that Kim was yearning for her pre-baby body and finding workout motivation in her old photos.

It didn’t take long for fans to begin commenting on the image and claiming that it was photoshopped. Soon, the side-by-side images of the original and the allegedly doctored Instagram upload were plastered all over the Internet.

One of the most obvious changes to us is the removal of the back zipper on Kim’s gorgeous white dress in the photo. Why? Zippers are a perfectly normal part of clothing, so that seems a little bit strange.

Her skin seems to be glowing and hair is a little more sleek in the IG version, but this is pretty normal given the popularity of photo filters on the social network.

Fans have also claimed that it looks like Kim has made her butt more perky, removed a few fly away hairs, made her boobs more perky and waistline smaller and made her nose smaller.

Kim isn’t the only Keeping Up with the Kardashians star recently accused of altering her photos. Younger sister Kylie Jenner also faced some criticism this week around a photo she had uploaded to her Instagram account.

Kylie posted a photo herself in a blue bikini, which she captioned “Tan time.” Within minutes, she had removed the original upload and replaced it with a brighter, less fuzzy version of the same photo.

Almost instantly, fans had taken to the comments to blast Kylie for photoshopping her images. They claimed that the fuzzy outlines of her body in the original upload were evidence of photoshop doctoring.

“I’ve never photoshopped an Instagram photo. it was fuzzy from the app I used. So end of story thank u,” Kylie quickly retorted on Twitter, claiming that the differences between the photos was a result of the popular filter functionality on Instagram.

Critics have been unhappy with Kim and Kylie, claiming that their fanbases of young and impressionable girls are already faced with enough pressure to look a certain way and that altering photos to an unattainable level of perfection can be harmful to young girls’ self esteem and body image.

What do you think: Are Kim and Kylie guilty of altering their photos or are fans simply overreacting?
