New Zealand’s ‘The Bachelor’ Couple Jordan Mauger & Fleur Verhoeven Quickly Split Ways

Just two days after The Bachelor NZ’s big finale, Jordan Mauger has dumped Fleur Verhoeven.

“Jordan came to visit me and he pretty much explained how he is feeling and that he has decided that his feelings aren’t mutual. He has decided he wants to leave it,” Fleur explained to Story.

Bummer. So what happens to her $26,000 diamond “commitment” ring designed by Michael Hill? That’s up to her— she should probably sell it and take a nice, long vacation away from New Zealand.

Luckily, jewelry designer Nick Von K has graciously provided Fleur with a trendy ‘Rebel’ ring as she sheds her post-reality TV disappointment.

While the public is extremely upset with Jordan’s treatment of Fleur, she’s finding support from the masses. Verhoeven told NZH Focus, “It’s really nice to hear all the amazing words, all the nice things everyone’s saying. To be honest, I haven’t read most of it. I’ve kind of stayed away from social media and everything for the last 24 hours. The odd thing I have heard and the little messages here and there from friends and even strangers have been really amazing.”

She didn’t say anything about her former flame but, “I respect his honesty and honestly I just wish him all the best.”

Despite ending the relationship, Jordan politely quipped in a statement explaining the situation, “It is only fair Fleur is with someone who can give her the best and give her the commitment and love she deserves… It is a great shame the feelings I had on the show haven’t translated into real life. I know Fleur will go on to do great things.”

Sigh. Making reality TV romance work on the outside isn’t for the faint of heart!
