Dancing with the Stars Shakeup: Brooke Burke-Charvet Out, Erin Andrews In

Bye-bye Brooke Burke-Charvet... Hello Erin Andrews!

After seven seasons of the show, Brooke Burke-Charvet confirmed in a statement that she has been let go as co-host of the show. In her statement she said:

“I have enjoyed seven seasons of co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture. I’ve always been one to embrace change and am looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn’t able to entertain because of contractual obligations to the show. I’ve seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom, but this one takes the cake.”

DWTS also recently parted ways with Harold Wheeler, bandleader and orchestrator, and his 28 member band.

In a statement, executive producer Conrad Green confirmed the casting change-up: “We can confirm that Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining us next season. She’s been a wonderful part of the Dancing with the Stars family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We’d like to thank Brooke for her years of great service.”

ABC quickly followed up this news with an announcement that FOX Sports reporter Erin Andrews will be joining the cast as Tom Bergeron’s co-host. Season 18 of the show will kick off on March 17. Andrews is familiar with the competition; she competed on season 10 with dance professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Yesterday, Bruke-Charvet tweeted: “Thanks for all the love & support. I loved my time in the ballroom & I’ll love my next chapter too. Change is positive. Love you guys!”
