Hot celebrities were among the concert goers at this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, whose first weekend was headlined by the likes of Lorde and Outkast.
Prior to any performances, everyone was talking about the reunion of Outkast who hadn’t performed live together in over a decade. Unfortunately they struggled to connect with the crowd and had enough people walk away during their set that Andre 3000 asked if the crowd was alive. Luckily for the ones who stayed for the entire performance, the group performed some of their most popular songs from the early 2000’s: “Ms. Jackson,” “The Way You Move,” and “Hey ya!” They received another blow, however, when festival authorities abruptly ended their set at the 1AM cutoff time.
There were other big name performances during the first weekend, as well as lesser known solo and group acts. Lorde, Pharrell Williams, Beck, and Lana Del Ray all performed during the first weekend. There were also many surprise appearances by performers who weren’t listed on the official schedule. Nelly joined Pharrell for a song, while Jay Z and Diddy performed with Nas. Beyoncé did some dancing on stage Saturday during her sister Solange’s set. She didn’t sing, but the crowd was ecstatic to see her dance.
What was going on offstage was just as entertaining as all the musical performances. Every where you looked, there were celebrities of all kinds; strutting around, playing games, and getting their groove on. Poor Leonardo DiCaprio let loose with his not so suave dance moves that are now plastered all over the internet. He’s famous for his acting, not his dance moves and now we all know why.
There were countless fashionistas walking around with their cronies. Kendall and Kylie Jenner strutted around in their festival appropriate attire alongside Selena Gomez. (Nice GIGANTIC nose ring, Kendall.) Paris and Nicky Hilton were of course in style for the hot outdoor event. Katy Perry, Hilary Duff, and Fergie enjoyed the festival without the pressures of having to perform. David Hasselhoff and Tony Hawk were also spotted at the festival.
