Audrey Hepburn’s Granddaughter Debuts in Harper’s Bazaar

The granddaughter of legendary Audrey Hepburn will appear on the September's subscriber issue of "Harper's Bazaar".

While Lady Gaga will grace the cover of September’s newsstand issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the magazine’s subscribers will get an extra special treat on the cover of their September issue.  Emma Ferrer will make her debut as the magazine’s September cover girl.  Who is Emma Ferrer?  Her name may not be well known, but her grandmother was none other than Audrey Hepburn, a.k.a. Miss. Holly Golightly the carefree New York playgirl from the classic film “Breakfast at Tiffany‘s”.  Hepburn starred in many movies during her younger years, such as “Sabrina”, “My Fair Lady”, “Funny Face”, and Roman Holiday”.  Ferrer’s favorite movie being “Funny Girl”, she states, “Somehow seeing her in her youth and brilliance reminded me that I do, in fact, carry her spirit along with me.”

Twenty year old Emma Ferrer is an art student at the Florence Academy of Art.  Her father, Sean Ferrer, is the son of Audrey Hepburn and her 1st husband, Mel Ferrer.  Emma was born a year after Hepburn’s death.  Having never meet her famous grandmother, Ferrer cherishes several of her grandmother’s belongings, like her cashmere turtlenecks and antique white teddy bear.  Ferrer also has memories of seeing images of her beloved grandmother.  She says during an interview, “The first images I have of her are, interesting enough, when she was quite young.  I remember seeing a photo of her jumping on a trampoline…I remember thinking that she looked like a friend I wish I could have had.”

The magazine spread is a tribute to her grandmother.  Twenty-three year old Michael Avedon, captures Emma imitating many of Hepburn’s legendary poses.  His grandfather, Richard Avedon, photographed Hepburn many times during her iconic years.  The September issue comes out in a few days.  It’s fun to think that just a few generations ago, the grandparents of these two young people were creating some of the most notable photographs of a true Hollywood legend.
