It's official! Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are married! The couple was wed in France!
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were quietly married in a family-oriented ceremony at their Southern French estate, Chateau Miraval, on Saturday, August 23rd in front of just 20 guests. People and Hello! magazines scored the first exclusives. Hopefully Brad and Angelina asked the publications to donate money to one of their charitable causes instead of just pocketing the money like most celebs.
Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and 6-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox all participated in the wedding. Angelina walked down the aisle with Maddox and Pax while Zahara and Vivienne acted as flower girls. Shiloh and Knox performed ring bearer duties.
Angelina’s silk-satin wedding gown and long veil were especially created by Atelier Versace and embroidered with drawings from her six kids. Very unusual and lovely. Truly a piece that will be treasured for generations.
Angelina Jolie also wore a special flower ring that belonged to her late mother Marcheline Bertrand on her right hand. It’s cool how she incorporated different elements from her family into her wedding day look.
Angelina and Brad’s nuptials I’m sure made their kids super happy. The children have been begging Brand and Angie to take the plunge for years. It’s nice to see two special people get married. Of course Angelina has suffered grief over comparisons to Jennifer Aniston and was unfairly slapped with the ‘home wrecker’ label. People seem to forget that Brad was already checked out of his first marriage, so the Aniston split was inevitable. Personally, I believe Jennifer and Brad were a mismatch and wanted very different things in life. They would both be miserable if they stayed together.
Angelina is a unique person and has a great mix of beauty, brains, and compassion. Brad and Angelina were simply made for each other and as the years pass by, hopefully their naysayers will realize what a great team they make.
The couple opted to skip the traditional honeymoon. Brad has been busy publicizing his new film Fury and flew to New York City for a short film project. Angelina took off to Malta and is busy directing an artsy film titled By the Sea which she also wrote. (Brad and Angie will star in it too.) These two never seem to stop working. But hey, they are happy and seem to be fueled by their many endeavors!
