Amy Adams Gives First Class Seat to US Soldier

Actress Amy Adams is a classy lady. She made a small sacrifice for a US Soldier.

The five-time Academy Award nominee Adams was traveling from the Detroit set of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice when she spotted the US soldier at the gate prior to the flight. Adams quietly approached airline staff to have her seat in first class exchanged with the coach seat of the soldier. She did it with no fanfare and without the soldier’s knowledge.

The act would have probably gone unnoticed had it not been for the fact that ESPN’s Number Never Lie host Jemele Hill was on the same flight and posted on Twitter about what she witnessed, bringing attention to the heartwarming act.

“Just saw actress Amy Adams do something incredibly classy. She gave her 1st class seat to an American soldier. I’m an even bigger fan now,” Hill tweeted.

Hill later told ABC News more about it. “When were waiting to board, I saw her glance the soldier’s way and then she said something to the person she was traveling with,” Hill said. “Once we boarded, I saw she was in first class. I was upgraded to first class and she was a couple rows behind me. I think she must have said something to the flight attendant, because before we took off she had vacated her seat and the flight attendant brought the soldier to her seat.”

Adams is the daughter of an Army officer. She greeted the soldier by cockpit before heading to her new seat.

“I just thought it was incredibly classy and thoughtful,” Hill said. “I already was a fan of hers, but now I’m a bigger one after today.”

“The flight attendant even remarked to me that in all her years of service she has never seen a celebrity do something like that. Regular people, yes. But not a celeb,” Hill continued.

Adams later told Inside Edition: “I didn’t do it for attention for myself. I did it for attention for the Troops.”
