Although the carpet was orange, the 27th Annual Kids' Choice Awards still brought out A-List Celebrities. With scandalous rumors and surprising wins, the show was similar to many other Hollywood Awards Shows.

Nickelodeon’s 27th Annual Kid’s Choice Awards was held on March 29th, 2014 in Los Angeles, California and boasted a guest list filled with high-end celebrities. The list of attendees included comedians, actors, singers, and more. Kevin Hart, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Pharrell Williams, Will Arnett, and Robert Downey Jr. were just a few of the stars present at the night’s events. This year’s show was hosted by the hunky Mark Wahlberg, who was eventually covered in Nickelodeon’s signature green slime.

Unfortunately, one of Nickelodeon’s most popular actresses was not there. Jennette McCurdy who is the co-star of “Sam & Cat” was a no-show, even though her show was nominated for and won Favorite TV Show. Rumors are swirling that she was protesting being paid less than her co-star Ariana Grande, who won Favorite TV Actress for her role in their show. Grande says the rumor is completely false, but McCurdy has not indicated either way. McCurdy has only stated that she is being treated unfairly by Nickelodeon. (She’s also probably still super embarrassed about the sexy photos of her that were leaked…)

The surprise of the evening… Selena Gomez beat out three other top female singers to snag the orange blimp for Favorite Female Singer. She received more votes than Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga.
