Justin Theroux is starring in a new HBO series called The Leftovers, in which a rapture event leads to 2 percent of the world’s population disappearing while others are left behind.
In a recent interview, Theroux was asked what he would take with him to the afterlife if he were to somehow supernaturally vanish from the Earth.
“My cell phone. No, my keys,” he joked at first.
After seriously mulling his answer over for a second, Theroux admits that Aniston is the only thing he would want to ensure he had for the Aferlife.
“That’s who I’d want to bring back,” he says. “That’s who I’d want to bring with me.”
The 45-year-old actress has been famously supportive of her actor beau, appearing alongside him for the premiere of the series and seemingly never letting him go. She looked polished and sleek in a black top and skirt paired with black stilettos.
The pair have been dating since May 2011 and were engaged in August of 2012.
Despite its seemingly dark storyline, Theroux recently spoke of The Leftovers and insisted that audiences should not be misled.
“Although it’s a show that’s ostensibly about the Rapture, very quickly it moves away from that and sort of becomes kind of a meditation on grief, wanting and yearning, the splintering effect of a massive loss,” he told E! News at the premiere.
“It is about love,” he said. “Everyone has an array of such genuinely human emotions in the piece, it wasn’t that hard to relate to.”
The series cast also includes Liv Tyler, Ann Dowd, Carrie Coon, Amy Brennerman, Christopher Eccleston, Emily Meade, Chris Zylka, Max and Charlie Carver, and Margaret Qualley.
The Leftovers premiered Sunday, June 29th on HBO. If you missed it, check it out!
