The International Rescue Committee has teamed up with HBO to raise money and awareness for refugees that have fled their homes due to conflict and exile in their home country. The cast of Game of Thrones will appear in ads urging support for the cause beginning Monday and continuing through the duration of the sixth season of Game of Thrones. By using the immense popularity that Game of Thrones has gained, the International Rescue Committee hopes to raise $1 million to help refugees in need.
The campaign ads will appear online on the charity’s microsite, YouTube, social media platforms and Omaze.com, where donors of a minimum $10 can enter to win two tickets to the season premiere of Game of Thrones.
